Send your artwork files for printing securely and quickly. DTFPro accepts all major professional file formats and automatically validates every upload to ensure compatibility before entering production.

Accepted formats
| Format | Extension | Best used for |
|---|---|---|
| PNG | .png | DTF transfer (supports transparency), digital artwork |
| JPEG | .jpg / .jpeg | Photographs, artwork without transparent backgrounds |
.pdf | Documents with vector or rasterized artwork | |
| TIFF | .tif / .tiff | High resolution, professional pre-press |
| SVG | .svg | Simple vectors, logos |
| Adobe Illustrator | .ai | Vector artwork created in Illustrator |
| CorelDRAW | .cdr | Vector artwork created in CorelDRAW |
| EPS | .eps | Vectors for professional printing |
WARNING
Other formats (such as .webp, .bmp, .psd) are not accepted. Export your file in one of the formats above before uploading.
File size limit
The maximum size per file depends on the plan contracted by the print shop. The limit can be up to 200 MB per file. If you are unsure of the exact limit, ask the print shop or try uploading — the system will tell you if the file is too large.
How to upload
1. Open a draft order
File upload is linked to an order. Make sure you have started a new order before trying to upload files.
2. Click Upload File
In the add item form, click Select File or drag the file directly onto the upload area.

3. Wait for processing
The system automatically runs the following checks:
- Real format validation: the file is analyzed by its internal content, not just its extension. Renaming a
.bmpfile to.pngwill not work. - Integrity check: ensures the file is not corrupted or incomplete.
- Thumbnail generation: for rasterized images (PNG, JPEG, TIFF), a preview thumbnail is generated automatically.
4. Confirm the preview
After uploading, check the thumbnail displayed on screen to confirm it is the correct file.
INFO
Vector formats (AI, CDR, EPS, SVG): may not generate a visual preview, but they will be processed normally during production.
5. Enter dimensions (when applicable)
For some services, you will need to enter the desired dimensions for the artwork:
- Width — in centimeters (e.g.
30) - Height — in centimeters (e.g.
40)
The system automatically calculates the area (m²) based on these dimensions.
Extra image processing features
The platform offers optional AI-powered processing tools:
Background removal
Automatically removes the background from photos and images. Useful for isolating a subject before DTF printing.
- Click Remove Background after uploading
- Processing may take a few seconds
- The result is displayed for your approval before saving
Resolution enhancement (upscale)
Increases the resolution of low-quality images using AI.
- Click Enhance Quality after uploading
- Recommended for images below 300 DPI
- The result is displayed for your approval before saving
WARNING
These features are optional and may not be available in all storefronts, depending on the print shop's configuration.
Replace or remove a file
If you uploaded the wrong file:
- Click the edit icon (pencil) next to the item in the order
- Upload the correct file
- The previous file will be replaced
To remove it entirely:
- Click the trash icon next to the item
- Confirm removal
INFO
Replacing and removing files is only possible while the order is in Draft status.
Tips for best results
Resolution
- Use a minimum of 300 DPI for DTF and large-format printing
- Lower resolutions result in pixelated or blurry output
- For vector artwork (AI, CDR, EPS, SVG), resolution is not a concern — vectors scale without quality loss
Transparency (DTF)
- For DTF transfer, always use PNG with a transparent background
- JPEG does not support transparency — the background will always be white, which can affect application to the garment
- In Photoshop: export as PNG with the Transparency option enabled
- In Illustrator: save as PNG and enable Transparent Background
Color mode
- RGB is the most common mode for monitors and cameras — works for most orders
- CMYK is the technical print standard — if your artwork is already in CMYK, keep it that way
- Minor color differences between screen and print are normal
File organization
- Name files descriptively (e.g.
tshirt-front-blue-logo.png) - Avoid special characters and spaces in file names
- If you have multiple versions of an artwork, include a number or date in the name to avoid confusion
Common issues
"File format not accepted"
The system analyzes the real content of the file, not just the extension. Renaming the extension will not work. Export the file again in the correct format using your design program.
"The upload failed"
Try again. If the problem persists:
- Check your internet connection
- Confirm the file is not corrupted (try opening it on your computer)
- Make sure the file size is within the limit accepted by the print shop
"The preview is not showing"
Vector formats such as AI, CDR, and EPS generally do not generate a preview. The file is still correct and will be processed normally during production.
"The image has a white background instead of transparent"
You uploaded a JPEG or another format that does not support transparency. Export the file as PNG and make sure the transparency/transparent background option is enabled in your design program.
"The file is too large"
Reduce the resolution to 300 DPI (sufficient for professional printing) or compress the image without quality loss using tools such as Photoshop (Export for Web) or TinyPNG for PNG files.
